Question by hantaah: what is the best software to use for web graphics and design?
I have designed a few web header and buttons etc. I prefer adobe fireworks cs5 and can scrape through photoshop cs5 and am beginning to learn Adobe indesign but I want to know what is the best software to use to create banners, headers, buttons etc for websites

Well the best programs would be Adobe Flash for animated banners and Adobe Photoshop for graphics (ex. Buttons) which gives you the option to save graphics in small file sizes. Have used Fireworks which can produce really good graphics, but I’m not sure about file size compression.
If you want you can go open source for graphics and use GIMP which is an alternative to Photoshop but not as good.
You can go really pro with 3D Studio Max in combination with Photoshop, had some outstanding visuals for banners using those.
The Adobe software is the industry standard.
For website graphics I personally use a combination of Illustrator & Photoshop. If you’ve never used them before they can be daunting, but keep with it and you’ll be able to do everything that you’ve mentioned.
InDesign is really meant for print publications such as brochures and things like that. It’s basically a high end version of Microsoft Publisher. You might be able to use it for web related stuff, but it’s not the best software for that kind of thing.
3D Studio, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop are best software for graphic design.
